I am so tired of seeing the fake looking pictures all over the place. If your pictures look fake it is usually because you are still giving the computer the old instructions.

You should stop using words like hyperrealistic or award winning studio lighting. The new computers do not care about those words anymore. When you give the computer a lot of information it gets confused. Makes a boring picture.

To get a picture you need to tell the computer about the camera first. You need to say what kind of lens to use, how to set up the lights and what the background looks like. I call this setting up the camera. Once you do that you can put anything in the picture. It will look good.

Here are some camera setups that I made for my team:

Look: we use a wide camera lens, like in the movies with a special lighting setup that makes deep shadows. We also add a bit of haze and film grain to make it look real. The camera is set up to frame the picture right. [Insert your subject here] -- 21:9 ratio

E-commerce setup: we use a lens to make the product look sharp and clear. We set up the lights to make the product stand out from the background. We also make sure the picture looks clean and real. [Insert your product here] -- 4:3 ratio

Smartphone setup: we make the picture look like it was taken with a smartphone. We use a lens and set up the lighting to make it look like it was taken outside. We also add a bit of blur and lens flare to make it look real. [Insert your character or scene -- 16:9 ratio

Magazine setup: we use a special lens to make the picture look sharp and clear. We set up the lights to make the person in the picture look good. We also add a bit of texture and detail to make it look real. [Insert your character details -- 1:1 ratio

I spent a lot of time making these camera setups so we can make good pictures without trying a lot of different things. I made a list of, over 200 setups that we can use.

I put all the setups in a database called the Hunter Vault. If you want to see all the setups or just look at the pictures I put a link in the comments.

I want to know how you make your pictures look good. Do you set up the camera first. Just try different things until it works?
