F1 | AI Trailer | by RV Studios | Remake experiment

Over the past one month, I’ve been leading an advanced creative experiment. Recreating an official Formula 1 trailer entirely through AI. This project pushes one central question.

How far can AI take cinematic storytelling when treated with the same discipline and direction as a traditional studio pipeline?

The final runtime is 2 minutes and 50 seconds. I’ve completed the first 40 seconds with every character, frame, and environment built from scratch using AI models and a structured creative workflow.

Here is the first output from the experiment.

Vision

The goal isn’t to simply imitate the original trailer. It’s to re-engineer it. Preserving its cinematic intensity while exploring how AI can elevate speed, lighting, and emotional depth. Where AI can deliver studio-grade realism without physical sets or camera systems.

Characters

The lead male character was crafted through multiple Midjourney iterations, refined with Magnific for micro-detail, and expanded using Nano Banana to maintain consistency across different actions and lighting conditions. The female character was adapted from a previous production and integrated for visual coherence throughout the sequence.

Scene Direction

Recreating F1’s cinematic rhythm required a meticulous pipeline. I extracted more than 50 keyframes from the original trailer, built moodboards in Figma and Midjourney, and designed a prompt-engineering system that generates scene-specific results while respecting motion realism, depth, and lighting logic. Each shot passes through 20 to 50 variations before final selection.

Technical Stack

About 70% of the visuals are generated in Midjourney and supported by Nano Banana. Motion work is handled through Midjourney, Kling, SeaDance 1 Pro & Runway. All sequencing, pacing, and transitions are manually directed to preserve narrative control.

Why This Matters

AI filmmaking is entering a decisive moment. With the right creative direction and engineering discipline, it can expand the boundaries of what individual filmmakers, creators, and studios can achieve. This project aims to contribute to that conversation. Offering a working example of how AI can operate as a high-end production tool rather than a shortcut.
